Analysis by Crapstorm

The odds of a nil succeeding with these cards is low. Firstly, the J9 doubleton is hard to cover. Your partner needs (1) a Club void plus two expendable Spades, (2) A singleton of AKQT plus one expendable Spade, or (3) two of AKQT (or a chance to reduce his hand to state (1) or (2) by discarding under void suits). The expendable Spades are not a concern, since you only have one troublesome Spade. Neglecting that and the possibility of enemy cover, there is a 57.3% chance that you will be set in Clubs. This hand has other problems too. Your partner won't be able to cover the TS 18.2% of the time. Plus, the unsafe Hearts may cost your partner a Spades or two.

Generally speaking, a nil that is less than 50% likely to succeed is a bad proposition. Long shots should be taken when you absolutely need to outbid your opponents, but you are leading by 90 points here. Bid 1. This hand is not strong enough for 2.
