“Spades As It Is Played”

The first Spades world
championship tournament

Visitors to the Master Spade have expressed their appreciation of the 100 Master Deals, the Rate Your Game feature, and You Be the Judge. Many of you have asked for more. Master Spades is happy to oblige. Here they are, if you don't mind an attached string.

Selecting interesting deals and preparing them for display is a very time-consuming task. This new set of deals, Spades As It Is Played, is now available by subscription

The premise is that nobody can play perfect Spades. There is just too much guesswork. Even experts cannot avoid the wrong guess or the reasonable play meeting an unlucky distribution. Your opponents will present you with one fine opportunity after another. Are you able to take advantage of each one? Can you induce more error?

Master Spades presents its new feature, "Spades As It Is Played," available to subscribers only. Designed for intermediate and advancing players, this ongoing series will help you to develop killer instincts at the Spades table.

"Same here. She thinks
I have a job, too."

The format of "Spades As It Is Played" is based on the interactive play of the popular "Rate Your Game" feature, but it is enhanced with more features and greater flexibility. Each deal has been carefully selected to illustrate a particular playing point. You will play a hand of Spades, making your choices, and then you can go back and try it again with different choices. The accompanying commentary will explain how you can recognize each key play whenever it comes up at the table. Try the free sample, below.

Update

After 40 deals, Spades As It is Played has ended as an ongoing feature. The continual effort of creating and programming interactive deals of exceptional quality and interest turned out to be too daunting. Subscribers to S.A.I.P. were all well-satisfied with what they received for their modest payment and they have expressed regrets that the feature had to end.

These 40 interactive deals, fully annotated, are now available to everyone for a one-time fee of $5. At 12.5 cents apiece, how can you go wrong? To get your password, click here:
